Do You want YOUR voice heard?
As the years and needs of our community change and differ so does the need and the reason for our platform. This year more than ever we feel like people's voices NEED to be heard. The voices of our community members, those who are hurting, those who are angry, those who WANT things to change FOR THE BETTER; we want to hear those voices and we want to share those voices with the world!!! 'Let's Sit Down' will be a series of monthly podcasts involving 4 participants and myself being the host/mediator. For Each podcast we will pull those participants from the submissions based on age (some months will be more adult conversations; we will also have some sessions involving children bc let's face it THEY are our future and their voices need to be heard too). Once selected you will fill out some simple paperwork, be given the topic(s) of discussion so you can come prepared with research, etc. The podcasts will be broadcast and blogged on multiple websites and social media platforms across the nation. PLEASE remember these discussions will be civil, we understand emotions may come into play but we will treat each person with respect and each participant will be given their time to give their "perspective". These discussions are meant to open eyes, definitely open ears and potentially open minds to new possibilities. Sometimes it takes the emotion and conviction in someone's voice and eyes to know they are sincere even if they don't agree with you. With that said, do YOU want to be heard?
